Ohio Statewide Foreclosures Increase in 2009

The state of Ohio has seen a 3.8% increase in foreclosure filings in 2009 over 2008. The increases have been consistent over the past few years.

Locally, in Butler, Clermont, Hamilton and Warren counties combined, the trend is similar at 3.8% increase from 2008 to 2009.

However, looking at the number of foreclosures filed since 2005, the numbers are more than modest. Those four counties saw an increase of 39% from 2005 to 2009 in foreclosure filings, with Clermont county being the worst offender at 65%. Hamilton county over the same time, was up 33%.

Morgan County showed the highest percentage increase (129.7 percent) in 2009 while Allen County showed the highest percentage decrease (30.7 percent).
